High strangeness may not be the best term for it, but there are telltale signs a person or place is a fulcrum for metaphysical energy. A person has high strangeness when their life starts to fill with inexplicable, often absurd coincidences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
High strangeness is observable by others. It’s the type of thing a friend or mate half jokes about, like “how come every time you take a bath the mail runs late?” Taking a bath and the mail running late have no obvious connection whatsoever. It’s absurd to think they’re related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
High strangeness usually feels normal to those experiencing it, until someone else points it out. This is not “things I say come true” or “the weather changes when I’m angry” kind of stuff. These quirky, absurd events often seem really normal to people experiencing them, while remaining inexplicable. Sometimes they can be rationalized, but not proven. Just about every Spring multiple expensive electronics I own stop working. It could be the weather, when I bought them, or a number of things… but after 15 years of this annoyance, I’ve never found an explanation. I just sort of expect it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A good friend of mine explains it like being in a video game, where different events trigger even when they don’t make sense. You play the game long enough, and it becomes normal and expected. You don’t really question why because it’s a game. Except real life is a little different, and many hide these things for fear of being judged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why are we talking about it? Good question! High strangeness is a classic hallmark of people and places touched by magic, the gods, aliens, or what have you. I’m taking no stances here about the origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many people seek understanding or enlightenment while ignoring the high strangeness in their own lives. I mean… if the mail carrier runs late more than half the time you take a bath… isn’t that easier to experiment with than playing with tarot cards?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
